Photographer Alexx Henry and his team show you how a magazine might look in the not-so-distant future with the October cover and spread for Outside Magazine. The living portrait of the triathlete Chris Lieto is photographed using the revolutionary Red One cinema camera and the 5d Mark II, for a moving magazine that looks right out of a Harry Potter movie.

The PEN Story

Slow motion made in New York in 2008 with a cheap casio camera. This video was shot with a casio EX-F1, at 300 fps and edited at 24 fps. Music: “Numb” by U2 (zooropa album)

This was shot with a Canon 5D and profoto flash. Then the images were edited in Photoshop and lined up in After Effects. I can’t believe this was originally 2D.

“I really wanted to make a video of London while I was there earlier this year but I didn’t had any camcorder, so I took pictures instead. In fact I took more then 3000 pictures and put them all together in less then 2 minutes.”

I wouldn’t do this with my DSLR. Man, you’ll eat up your shutter life.
